MOLLY SARLé HUMAN

Molly Sarlé has earned her stripes over the last few years as a touring member of Feist’s band and as one third of American folk heroes Mountain Man. Her first solo effort ‘Human’ is a psychedelia-tinged piece with a heartfelt message at its core. Letting her characterful vocals glide gently over the jangly backing track, ‘Human’ sounds a little bit like a mash up between Melody’s Echo Chamber, Kate Bush and Gillian Welch’s iconic country outing ‘Everything Is Free’. She explained, "'Human' is about how we project onto other people, especially love interests, and being disappointed when an idealized version of another person crumbles away...It’s about coming to terms with the end of something by recognizing that everyone is flawed, and sometimes things just don't work. It’s possible to find joy in disappointment and letting go". Check out the video here now, which features cameos from friends and band mates Amelia Meath (also of Sylvan Esso) and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig. -Holly Mullineaux
